Leak in a new West U build, or water in an older bungalow? ARC responds 24/7, extracts and dries to IICRC standards, documents the loss for your insurer, and rebuilds finishes to match.
West University Place is its own city, surrounded by Houston and just west of Rice University. It was developed from the 1920s onward, and its original homes were mostly modest bungalows and cottages from the 1930s through the 1950s. Over the past few decades, many of those houses have been replaced by much larger two- and three-story homes.
That mix means two very different kinds of water losses. In new builds, the problem is usually a fitting, a fixture, or an appliance hidden behind finished surfaces. In older homes, it's aging pipes and original materials. We handle both.
Extraction and monitored drying to IICRC S500. Water damage restoration
Contained removal and testing to IICRC S520. Mold remediation
Board-up, soot and odor removal, contents cleaning. Fire & smoke restoration
Tarping, board-up, and full repairs. Storm damage restoration
West U is flat and drains toward Brays Bayou to the south. During major rain events such as Tropical Storm Allison in 2001 and Hurricane Harvey in 2017, high water affected homes in parts of the surrounding area. Floodwater is Category 3 and needs full protective protocols.
PEX lines, shower valves, and ice maker connections are usually buried in finished walls and ceilings. Slow leaks can go unnoticed until stains, buckling floors, or a musty smell appear, by which point mold may have started.
Mature oaks shade many West U streets. Strong storms can bring limbs onto roofs, and once a roof is open we tarp it and begin drying right away.
Many newer West U homes sit on raised slabs, with upstairs laundry rooms, multiple bathrooms, and attic HVAC equipment. A washer hose or toilet supply line that fails upstairs can soak ceilings, walls, and wood floors on the floor below.
Remaining original homes often have older plumbing, original hardwood, and additions built in different decades. We trace moisture through each part of the house with readings, not guesswork, before recommending any removal.
IICRC documentation from day one, Xactimate estimates, and direct billing with all major carriers, so you pay only your deductible. How the claim process works
If it's unsafe, leave and call 911. Otherwise shut off the water, move art and rugs away from wet areas, and leave damaged materials in place for documentation.
We extract from the surface and below, then dry with monitored setups so site-finished wood and stone installations have the best chance of being saved.
Cabinetry, trim, and built-ins are checked with moisture readings before anything is removed. Where removal is needed, we document it first.
Containment, floor protection along work paths, and one point of contact from the first call through the final walk-through.

Yes. West U is part of our Greater Houston service area. We dispatch 24/7, and our average on-site response time across the Houston area is about two hours.
Only what the readings support. Wet insulation and badly damaged drywall usually come out; many ceilings and walls can be dried in place. We document every decision so your adjuster can follow the scope.
Our reconstruction team handles drywall, flooring, cabinetry, millwork, and paint, with the goal of matching pre-loss condition. We document existing finishes early so the rebuild has a clear reference.
We set up containment to keep spores out of the rest of the house, remove affected materials, and treat the area to IICRC S520 standards, with post-remediation testing before containment comes down.
Yes. Water losses during a remodel are common when plumbing is being reworked or a roof is open. We dry and document the affected areas, coordinate with your general contractor on what is new work versus damage, and keep moisture records your carrier can review. Once materials read dry, either our reconstruction team or your builder can finish the repairs, whichever you prefer.
